Advice on how to Go about your Report Writing Process

St Jerome Immersion Cover Page

  1. The secret in finishing your report in record time is to write at the slightest opportunity. Many students usually find the immersion programme very demanding. The little moment they have, they spend on recreation. While recreation is not a big sin, it is important to manage your time so that much of your spare time is spent on your report.
  2. The first step many teachers recommend is that you develop a template/outline. Is like a plan that shows how you will write your report. This gives you a bird eye view of the report writing process before you get into it proper
  3. Keep a Diary. This is supposed to be done right from the preparatory phase of your work. This way before you leave your home university, you already have material for the background which will be bettered when you are received and start your classes at the University of Buea.
  4. Know how to spell the name of your lecturers. Get their names from them in class or from their colleagues. It is better to leave out a name than to spell it wrongly.
  5. Give your work to an Anglophone friend to proofread for you. It could be an undergraduate student, but a Masters student is preferable. Each time you submit your work to your supervisor, it is graded. It is therefore important to submit a work that has quality.
  6. When you are done with your work, submit to your supervisor. You will have constant meetings with your supervisors and they will inform you about the frequency of your meetings with them and their availability.
